Pegah Rajamand

Pegah Rajamand began her academic training in paining at the faculty of Art and Architecture in Tehran and later received her MA in painting from Al-Zahra ,Art University. Since her early student years, the study of industrial structures,machinery and large scale , man-made constructions has been central to the development of her artistic practice.

She is drawn to monumental, complex structures whose scale and mechanical presence evoke a sense of awe and subtle fear forms she views true representatives of humankind and symbols of its dominance over the earth . Her work incorporates materials such as charcoal, pastel, and acrylic on paper and cardboard. She uses the physical characteristics of each medium to covey the weight, rigidity and impact of industry on nature.

Through the flexibility of materials and delicacy of paper surfaces, she creates textures, scratches and visual layers that echo the roughness and intricacy of industrial environments. On recent years, Rajamand has focused on collage, expanding the visual density of her composition to reflect the psychological complexity of contemporary human experience and its confrontation with technological structures.

Pegah Rajamand has held three solo exhibitions at O Gallery in Tehran. Her works rooted in the study of landscape traditions and centered of the forms of metallic structures and their effects on natural environments have also been shown in major group exhibitions and visual arts festivals in Iran and abroad.
