Erfan Sharaf (b. 1997, Shiraz, Iran) is a photographer and visual artist living and working in Shiraz, whose work serves as a profound meditation on the tension between physical appearance and internal reality. His practice operates on a principle of subtraction, stripping away the noise of the everyday to expose the raw, sculptural essence of his subjects. By isolating form and texture, Sharaf creates a quiet, almost heavy space for contemplation—transforming a single profile or a fleeting moment into a monumental record of existence.
Recognized through international platforms such as Art Limited and accolades including 35AWARDS and the Sina Awards, Sharaf views the lens as both a personal journey and a silent form of communication. For him, photography is an ongoing attempt to translate lived experience into visual narratives that resonate far beyond the reach of words.
