Artist Biography

Ebrahim Yaghmaei (b. 1957, Semnan, Iran)An Iranian painter, musician, and instrument maker, Yaghmaei moves at the intersection of tradition and contemporary expression. Born in Semnan, he embarked on his artistic path from a young age — from miniature painting to painting, from music to instrument making. After years of upheaval in Iran, he moved to Germany in the 1980s, living between two worlds: painting and music, East and West, memory and exploration.Today, based near Lüneburg, Germany, he continues to create and perform; his paintings carry the roots of Iranian color and mythology, while his instruments resonate with the touch of patient hands and attentive ears.
