Babak Haghi (b. 1982, Tabriz, Iran) is an Iranian visual artist working across staged photography, portraiture, and video. He began his professional career in theatre photography in 2012, studying visual arts under the mentorship of Hafez Miraftabi. His early engagement with theatre strongly shaped the performative and constructed nature of his later work.
Haghi’s practice centers on the body as a site of identity, vulnerability, and fluid femininity. Through carefully staged environments, he explores the expressive potential of body language as a non-verbal dialect—one that transcends gendered boundaries and reveals hidden dimensions of desire and selfhood.
He has held eight solo exhibitions in Iran and London and has participated in over sixty group exhibitions internationally. His work was presented at India Art Fair 2020, Position Berlin Art Fair 2023 and, most recently, in a group exhibition in Paris with Evidences (2025). Haghi has photographed more than 150 theatre productions in Iran and currently experiments with manual printing techniques in his studio practice.
ARTWORK PREPARATION
Every artwork is shipped according to its location.
For the safety of the artwork and to facilitate international transportation, works located in Iran are professionally rolled and packed in archival shipping tubes. Paintings on canvas are carefully removed from their stretcher bars prior to shipment and should be professionally re-stretched and framed upon arrival.
DELIVERY TIMELINE
Our current estimated delivery time for works shipped from Iran is 3–6 months, although many orders may arrive sooner as shipping arrangements become available.
Some artworks are already held by our partner galleries outside Iran and are available for immediate shipment. Where applicable, the artwork page will indicate Immediate Shipping Available along with the Country of Dispatch.
