Amir Sheykhian (b. 2001, Semnan, Iran) is an Iranian artist based in Shiraz. Alongside his work as a theatre actor and his academic studies in Tourism, he has developed an artistic practice centered on Persian mirror Work, reinterpreting this traditional craft through a contemporary lens.
His work explores themes of identity, cultural memory, and the dynamic relationship between heritage and modernity. Drawing on the visual language of traditional Persian mirror work, Sheykhian creates compositions that transform reflective surfaces into spaces of introspection and dialogue. By combining traditional techniques with contemporary forms and sensibilities, his practice seeks to preserve cultural heritage while engaging with questions of selfhood and belonging in an evolving world.
Through his artworks, Sheykhian investigates how identity is constructed, fragmented, and reflected across personal and collective experiences, positioning mirror as both a material and a metaphor for perception, memory, and transform.
ARTWORK PREPARATION
Every artwork is shipped according to its location.
For the safety of the artwork and to facilitate international transportation, works located in Iran are professionally rolled and packed in archival shipping tubes. Paintings on canvas are carefully removed from their stretcher bars prior to shipment and should be professionally re-stretched and framed upon arrival.
